Basophil histamine release induced by hazelnut allergens depending on the geographical origin of the sensitizing sera. Stripped human basophils were passively sensitized with serum #21 (Zurich–a), #1 (Strasbourg–b), #8 or #12 (Athens, c and d respectively) and then incubated with increasing concentration of hazelnut allergens, i.e., hazelnut extract (black), rCor a 1 (red), rCor a 8 (blue), Cor a 9 (purple) or Cor a 11 (green).
