Basophils were identified in whole blood in the lymphocyte-monocyte area (a) as SSC^low/CD123+/HLA-DR− (b, c) or as SSC^low/CD203c+ (e) or as SSC^low/CD203c+/CD123+/HLA-DR− (e, f) cells. CD63 expression was assessed in basophils identified as SSC^low/CD123+/HLA-DR− (d) or SSC^low/CD203c+/CD123+/HLA-DR− (g).
